How Does Prostate Cancer Spread

When prostate cancer  already spread to other parts of the body that is the most disturbing situation for prostate cancer patients.

Scientist explained that prostate cancer spread is such a long and complicated process. In the process of spreading, prostate cancer cells will meet many difficulties.

The cancer cells need to go through dozen times of variation (changing shaped), then separate themselves by overcoming sticky function between cells, adjust its shape to get through to the narrow connective tissue, then  after passing the connective tissue, cancer cells will penetrate into blood vessels, which then spread through the bloodstream and could perhaps stuck in certain organs such as bone, liver, lungs and others.

Prostate cancer spread to new organ through blood vessels.  The cells will meet a resistance of body immune system which  are activation of white blood cells.

There will be some cancer cells die at that time, however other cells will continue the division process, and the remaining cells are dormant or inactive. Surviving cancer cells will regenerate, continuing to devide, pushing normal cells, damaging organs function, and eventually will become something deadly.

The spread of Prostate Cancer can be detected with the help of  blood Prostate Spesific Antigen (PSA). Then the value of PSA is one that determines the choice of cancer treatment in addition of life expectancy, diagnosis, stage, degree of tumor, co-morbidity, and also considering the desire of the patient.
